'This is a 80% life sized figure. She was inspired by a pose used by Rodin, I thought that the pose was very exciting as the back muscles and bone structure are put under strain creating beauty and interest in the pose.
I changed the pose quite considerably, changing the position on the head and softening the angularity of the pose. The detail of the face and hands and feet are crucial to the overall integrity of the piece.
I spent a long time on the face to get the exact look I wanted. Each piece is cast and individually finished by me. The patina is individually applied. She is frost proof and weather proof and the patinas are permanent and colourfast.' - Christine, 2017.
