From sculpting to finalising our Art School plans, last week was a busy one at Court Robert Arts...
We're still finishing up the course details at the moment, we want them to be just perfect for our prospective students! Although, we can provide you with a small sneak peak into what sort of things we'll be offering... You can expect to learn about the craft of creative clay-making from Christine, as well as the art of oil painting from Alex. We've also been making some amendments to our teaching studios to provide students with the ideal space to free their creativity. So as you can imagine, it's sure to be a great season of teaching at the new Court Robert Art School! We're also delivering more and more sculptures to Garden Centres and Reclamation Yards in preparation for the Spring weather. Although we think someone needs to tell the weather system that it's meant to be a bit warmer than -2? Hopefully it'll heat up by the time we re-open our exhibition for Spring/Summer season this Easter... Fingers crossed!

Having had a glorious taste of Spring weather at Court Robert this week, we're getting all the more excited for our opening Easter weekend at the end of March.
Aside from that, we've had a few other lovely things going on here too. Christine has been busy having her sculptures accepted into plenty of Garden Exhibitions this Summer, including Sir Harold Hiller Gardens in Hampshire from May through to October 2018. Plus, Artstone have delivered their Spring/Summer collection to Gallops Architectural Salvage Ltd in Crickhowell. With pieces including the classic Iron Hare and the Sitting Cat, we're hoping the weather stays sunny enough to exhibit the work in all of its glory! We'll be back with more updates later on in the week on our website and Facebook page, keep an eye out to find out more about the finishing touches we're making to our Art Classes starting April 2018... This Easter 2018, Court Robert Arts will be reopening their Sculpture Exhibition for the Spring and Summer months (and we're super excited)! Since last Spring, we've been busy doing lots of work to our Courtyard and Gardens, so make sure you pop along and see us!
Final details are yet to be confirmed, but we're sure to have some scrumptious homemade cake as well as some Easter activities. Plus if you're not just coming for the cake... We have lots of new work being exhibited here too that's bound to look lovely in your garden. Interested in learning more about painting, drawing or sculpting? We'll also have even more information about our teaching programme commencing in April at Court Robert Arts. Keep an eye out for the event page on Facebook! Since opening the gates at Court Robert Arts in the Spring of 2017, there has been plenty of development at this Monmouthshire-based Sculpture Exhibitor. We're in the process of producing a pottery studio, as well as having converted farming outbuildings into lovely new studios.
And guess what? The excitement doesn't end there! We're currently producing our teaching syllabus for Spring 2018, beginning in April. Our purpose-built teaching studios are recently completed, and we're just making those final touches to our art classes before releasing our confirmed dates. We'll also be encouraging other artists to tutor short-courses with us, so get in touch if you too want to impart some of your wisdom! You can email us at [email protected] or call us on 07763 485638. Delighted? Us too! Watch this space and check out our facebook page for updates on when you can sign up. After what has felt like a rollercoaster weekend of weather, there's certainly some snow in sight at Court Robert Arts this morning. The mountains are coated in a beautiful blanket of that wintery goodness, although our sculptures are looking a little chilly... Regardless of the cold, this Winter sunshine is getting us pretty excited for our gardens to re-open for Summer 2018. Join us Easter Weekend (March 30th) to see what new artwork we're exhibiting for you! Believe it or not, Valentine's Day is here next week! (We know, wasn't it just Christmas?) If your loved one is more of a garden addict than chocolate lover, treat them to one of our beautiful garden sculptures. From the elegance of the Sunworshipper to the simple Sitting Cats, we're bound to have something to delight this Valentine's Day. Or if you're looking for something on a smaller scale, our little Smug Cats are perfect for those who adore their feline friends! You can buy online, or call us on 01291 691186 to place an order. We look forward to hearing from you! Resident Artist at Court Robert, Christine Baxter, has had her work incorporated into the new Wellness Suite at the prestigious Thermae Bath Spa. Encapsulating the Roman history of Bath, the Wellness Suite is a Roman-inspired Steam Room. Hand-crafted to match the colour of the stone blocks and the wall design, Christine provided six sculptures in total. She says, “the design was a joint effort” by herself and her partner, Alex Brown. They each wanted to capture the essence of a “strong but benign” lion, which works very well in the dramatic lighting of the Wellness Suite! Earlier this week, Christine was invited to take photographs of the sculptures in situ at the Wellness Suite. Although, she did have quite the early start to get the photos taken prior to 8am before guests arrived at the steam room (which would have played havoc with the photgraphs)! Christine notes how the lion masks work extremely well in the Suite, alongside a marvelous mosaic of Minerva. Christine told us how “tasteful and relaxing” it all is, and how pleased she is that guests will be spending some of their spa experience looking at her work. Want to see more of Christine’s sculptures? Visit Court Robert Arts in Raglan where her work can be seen displayed in the courtyard, alongside other artists’ work. Since our last post, lots has been happening here at Court Robert Arts... Christine's studio is now fully up and running (with heating and everything)! Converting the outbuildings from animal havens to art studios has been no easy task, but suffice to say everything is seemingly slotting into place. Plus, we even have a pottery studio opening very soon as well as art workshops... It's all very exciting, so watch this space to hear more about what's happening at Court Robert in 2018. |
